All the highlights from Soho Padel Club Cup 2025

Members and special guests went head-to-head on the courts at Soho Farmhouse in our inaugural padel tournament for Prostate Cancer Research.

On Friday, the newly opened padel courts at Soho Farmhouse were the centre of the action for our inaugural Soho Padel Club Cup for Prostate Cancer Research. Held to raise awareness and vital funds for a great cause, the tournament – hosted by two-time Team GB Olympic snowboarder Aimee Fuller – swung into action in the morning with 32 pairs of members going head-to-head in mixed doubles heats. Cheered on by a growing crowd of spectators and court-side House DJs, players battled it out in knock-out matches for the chance to compete against a line-up of special guests.

In the final stages, the eight finalists were joined on the court by comedians Jack Whitehall and Michael McIntyre, and actor Daniel Kaluuya. Pro padel players Alfonso Patacho, Victoria Nicholas, Jasmine Dedakia and George Weller also upped the ante in a fight to the finish for the glory of raising the coveted Soho Padel Club Cup.

As the sun set, our champions came together for a Players Dinner in the Glasshouse. Joined for the evening by stars including Claudia Winkleman and Trevor Nelson, they enjoyed a four-course feast of Cote de Boeuf, Salt-Baked Sea Bass, wood-fired potatoes, and Strawberry Eton Mess with verbena, along with drinks including non-alcoholic beer from our friends at BERO. During the dinner, founder Nick Jones hosted a talk to help spread awareness of Prostate Cancer Research’s drive to make screening compulsory for at-risk men in the UK.

‘When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2022, I was lucky. It was caught early, and that made all the difference. But too many men aren't that lucky. That’s why I’ve joined Prostate Cancer Research to support the campaign for a screening for every man. A national screening programme could save thousands of lives. This shouldn’t come down to luck. Every man deserves the same chance I had – to catch it early and do something about it. Thank you for showing your support for Prostate Cancer Research. It meant a lot to see everyone there.’

Prostate Cancer Research is working to fund bold innovations to improve how the disease is diagnosed, treated and prevented, and campaigns for the policy changes needed to make those advances count.

‘We’re incredibly grateful to Soho House for hosting this padel tournament in support of Prostate Cancer Research. Events like this not only raise vital funds, but also help to increase awareness of a disease that affects so many men and their families. Every year over 12,000 men die of prostate cancer – a national screening programme is essential for encouraging early detection and saving lives. With Soho House’s support, we’re spreading this message and moving closer to a future free from the impact of prostate cancer.’
